Goin to get burned if you don't step back and slow down.
Stop looking @ 72- up for over $10k  :Twocents:

Im 23 so i can relate.

I think you mean 73 and up.  You ain't gonna find a 72 Rallye that has been restored for under 20K.

No not really
72- on up are harder to unload for big time money when the time comes unless its something super special.  :Twocents:

I agree that's very must if the 73 and 74 cars are more car for the money

I would  love a 68-71 sadly Craigslist had been dry  for the past couple days

Try using adhuntr.com It searches all of craigslist at once vs you having to search everywhere individually. Good luck on your hunt. Know you want one fast, and I hate to be an echo, but take your time, and slow down. I've been where you are needing a car fast (and I got VERY lucky) but it doesn't always turn out that well. You're young...have a lot of years ahead of ya! GOOD LUCK! :2thumbs:

71/72 Chargers are the same body. If you can find a 72 Rallye, you got it made. A 72 Rallye is super special. Try finding one.

Personally I think the OPs intent has been addressed and now he's just fishing haha...we all wanted a Charger when we were young I suspect...I just keep coming back for the cool ads  ;D

So you don't overpay on the car to start with, which is the goal.

A restored 72 rallye would not be that hard to unload especially if it's a 4 speed.

He wants a driver in good shape.  He is going to be looking a long time for a second gen that fits that bill in the same shape as a third gen

and dont get me wrong in thinking that chargers are no.1, but dont be afraid to also check out other mopars up for sale. you may be partial to b bodies, but a nice cuda or challenger may also fill the desire just as well. of course you wont find a driver cuda for the price you can score a third gen charger. :shruggy:

and if you search all the mopars for sale, us followers of this thread will get a bigger selection of other mopars to drool over. :D

I think this one is the best so far

http://allentown.craigslist.org/cto/4584608739.html

Does not use all your money
Is a bit different (can paint if not like)
Has a 360 so not too bad on gas

As long as the frame is good and floors are not too bad
next project 70 Charger FJ5 green

It does look nice, but it doesn't look like he'll wiggle any on the price.

If you can live with green, this one looks like a good candidate for what you're wanting.  http://rochester.craigslist.org/cto/4584749289.html

I'd also look this one over.  Sell the 340 block (if it's good) and build up the 440  http://allentown.craigslist.org/cto/4584608739.html

I'd also look this one over real well.  http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/cto/4583478469.html  Drive it while you save up for some more powerful upgrades.

GOOD NEWS GUYS

the older gentle man that owns this 70s charger sent me a message after we talked last night  http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/cto/4587382038.html

He said he would like to see it go to a good home and would work with me to try to get me this car he said that he has all the parts to get it running and driving and that if i send him a deposite he will get it running and driving so that i can fly up thier (my mom is a flight attendant so i get the flight free) and then drive the car home to Oklahoma.

Would you guys do this deal for 15000?

70 is my favorite year  :drool5:

If the car checks out ok and mom and dad say ok, then go get it.  But, I wouldn't depend on driving it home.  Truck and trailer is the way to go, until you and your mechanics have checked it over.

Go see the car in person before paying out any money :yesnod:

Yep I agree the owner is a very nice guy and is happy to work with me would it be a car you would buy if it was a running and driving car?

If you can now get $15 000 I think I would try this one again

http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/cto/4579081702.html

I have a 1970 Dodge Charger with a 440 engine and a 447 4 speed transmission. The interior is spotless, everything is in good condition. Car also has Magnaflow resonators and Hooker headers. It has American Racing rally wheels (dukes of hazzard) with new Radial tires. I have invested over 18 grand in this car so no 5,000 dollar offers. Im not in a rush to sell. Shoot me an offer, worst i can say is no

Just hope you have good car insurance with all these 440 cars ::)
