Is it possible to delete contributing posts to a thread that one creates?  Ideally I would like to start an informative build thread but would want to remove the inevitable negative derogatory posts that always seem to creep and detract from this forum.  Thanks.

Only mods can delete posts.  If it was me doing wanting to do what it is you're wanting, I'd pm a mod that is currently logged on, explaining your reasoning for the deletions requested, and then hit the Report to Mod button of the posts you wish to delete, but only if the mod agrees with you.  Otherwise, I'd just ignore the offending material and go on.

Having had my own general discussions with a few of the mods, the RtM button is a pia for them and not something they enjoy dealing with.  They'd rather use the forum as the rest of us do.  That is why I highly suggest asking before hitting the RtM button, but I still highly advise that it is best to just ignore the offending post and go on.  There are quite a few of us that have the same request that you do. :yesnod:

Save the RtM button for much more serious matters. :yesnod:

I know some forums have a "Ignore List" if you know who you want to ignore, but I don't know if DC.com has it.

Thanks guys, appreciate the thoughts.

If you have something said in a thread that you feel is offensive, just let one of us mods know and we will see about removing it . One of my favorite parts of this forum is the build threads, and they should stay on track.

OK, thanks Charger-Bodie.  Although my build is not "traditional" I think a lot of owners will appreciate the knowledge share.  I'll send you a note if my build thread starts to become derailed.   :2thumbs:
