How to find out?

Where is the code/stamp

On 440 I thought they were all in one and same place - and then the letter indicated which year it was made. C is 1967 I think....

How to identify my 383....

Look on the flat area at the front of the block right next to the distributor.

ther is a casting date on the side of the block as well , usually they were used within 4 months of being cast
