I've got a 1977 model 440 all stock that I'm gonna be putting a edelbrock performer intake and latter ill put either shorty or long tube headers and that's pretty much it... but what size carb should I get I've been told to go with a 750 eddy or a holley 83770 a street avenger...any ideas. Right now I've got a 600 but was told it was too small that it couldn't breath...plz any advise is appreciated and thx in advance

Make that the Performer RPM manifold; key word being "RPM."  If you get the regular Performer manifold you'll see why it isn't.

As for the 'carb, it's really personal choice but the general consensus is that the easier to get up and running is the 'Eddy/Carter series, but for maximum tuning and flexability you go with a Holley; again that's just my interpretation of "what's best" so you'll have to read about the forums, research and then take a chance.  Good luck...

I went with the regular performer. I don't have plans on doin a lot to it. I just want to make sure that if I get a 750 eddy that it will hold up with that motor. But I don't have plans on tearing inside motor I should still get a lil increase with the intake I just need help with carb choice. Will a 750 eddy hold up?

I'm running the 83770 street avenger, Its a nice carb, easy to tune and great trottle response.  :2thumbs:
