I've been trying to save a buck but Ron's distributor-porn has me mesmerized.  I give up!  How do I buy one of these things?!

Just send me a PM Myk if you'd like to order a distributor  ;)

Thanks for the info. I'm seriously considering the R2R CD setup.
On the precut plug wires. Are they long enough to go over the valve covers? I'm currently running MP finned covers. The last set I got were too short and I can't run the wires around the front of the heads because the location of my alt and electric water pump.

The RTR is a very nice and user friendly setup. Lots in service with excellent results ; many in the 500hp range (and higher)  :2thumbs:

The wires are plenty long, I just ran my driver's side wires around the front of the valve cover and around the back of the A/C compressor and I sill have plenty left to make a turn or two.  Going over the valve covers will not be a problem.

As Dirk mentioned ; there is enough length to go over the top of the VC's but if you want i can have a set made to your specifications. Give me the lengths you need and it will happen  ;) Rick charges a little extra for the custom length option but in some cases with custom wire looms and routing...that is a better option.  :yesnod:

I think the thing I like the most is the adjustability if the mech. Advance. Loosen two screws and move it. Lock it back down , check it, if its good your done. Non of the weld , grind repeat junk.

And yes we are blessed to have Ron on the site and as a friend. A totally stand up guy who would do anything for a friend or someone he hasn't even met.

I have to agree, setting the mech advance is a snap.  Installed my Firecore plug-N-play last June, been very happy since.  Ron helped out a ton.  Now just need a set of wires, saving, saving, saving.

Well, after looking at all the info, I'll be getting a new dizzy and coil as soon as my VA pay gets in.

Excellent read. The Charger Board has always been a valuable source of straight-shooting advise, without all of the drama and bs. When I first met Ron Wilson, it was love at first beer. lol  He is honest as the day is long, knowledgeable, and a true testament as to what any manufacturer would look for in a sales rep. One thing, the Ready to Run is not a CD ignition. It provides a single monster spark. Keith Dunnick in Indiana did a back to back test with an MSD 6al, and they were neck and neck, with the RTR edging it out at over 6100 rpm. Barely, but it showed on the dyno. His test was so easy to understand, Mopar Muscle paid him to be able to print it. The RTR is so much easier to wire up, and you can also use our hotter oil-filled coil that looks stock. The bang for your buck and ease in tuning makes it a win-win. Thanks very much.
