My father in law has a 63 Impala convertable that he paid a pretty penny for a rotisserie restoration. He convinced me to go with him to a Father's Day car show at our local rec center this Sunday. He will bring his Impala, I will bring my 67 Charger. I told him that I hope my jalopy gets as much interest as his car. I'll post pictures and give you all an update.

Oh that should be fun.  :2thumbs:  I like the early 60's Chevy's.

God must love stupid people; He made so many.

So the car show was fun, just a little nerve wracking as every child and woman with a large purse felt the need to squeeze around my car. I love to drive the car, and am not really a worrier, but it stressed me out having people walk around my car with drinks and belt buckles!

I'm in a suburb of Denver and the car show had approximately 400 cars. I counted 5 mopars. A very nice 69 Road Runner, a 71 Challenger, 2 73 Challengers, and my 67 Charger. I did tell my wife that my car will show up in about a thousand pictures because it was sandwiched between my father in laws perfect 63 Impala and a 66 Cobra replica - my car will be found in the background :)

Here are some pictures:

Looks like a great show but you are right, they need more Mopars.  The road runner looks nice too but I love your 67.  Headrest car, cool.

Where was this one at? I was out of town, and missed like 4 car shows in or around Denver this weekend! :brickwall: :brickwall:

The show was in Arvada, at the Apex Rec Center. It was a fundraiser for the Apex foundation.

I think you will find that very few Mopars is a common problem in most places. :rotz:

So call me naive....why is this true? I mean, mopar was as common as other auto makers right? Did they just fall apart faster? Are people hoarding em? I guess Id be curious why. I mean it is true. Went to a show a clue weeks ago, and other then an old plymouth coup, I was it. Me and the 68

They were number three of the Big 3.  As a matter of perspective, in 1969 Dodge sold a bit less than 100 thousand Chargers when Chev delivered nearly a quarter million Camaros.  And Mustangs?  There is a very very good reason that segment is called "ponycars".  In 65, 66 and 67 the knocked out around a half a million of them and in 68 and 69 after Chev came after them it only went down to 300k a year.

its the same for swap meets, shows and cruises. i could go to any swap meet around here and build a complete mustang or camaro from found parts.

we even had a guy at the last big swap meet selling titles for several years and body styles. (for display only)  yea right.
