Hey Norway Charger could you measure how close your tires are to the leaf springs on the passenger and driver side?

And the only modification you made was to the hump on the outside of the wheel well?
No spring re-location?

Hi Blackharger..
The only modi did was that hump.
There is 2" on the left side, and 2 1/8" on the right. ( clerance from the tire to the leafspring )

Gee Norway, How much weight did you add with that Dynamat? I might do that too. I was looking at getting the 18inTorque Thrust II's with gForce KDW2 from NewStalgiaWheeles.

What was the shipping cost to get to Europe? I'm in the Jersey, United Kingdom.

Hope to see you at the Euro Nationals, we get a few guys from Germany and France every year.

What king of welding mods did you have to do to get the Wiper motor in. It would seem your option is better and cheaper than buying new original one.

I added aprox 40 pounds of weight with the dynamats, but the again i have redused more than 300 pounds on the frontend, heater/blower unit, brakes, engine etc...
As u can see on the wiper system, there is some welding and modification.
If u are used to handle a welder there is no big deal, just some planning...
I paid almost $500 ( air )for shipping my wheels/tires, but u can get it as low as $100 with a cargo boat

Thanks Norway! The reason why I asked is that on the interior of your car your wheel house is a differnet
color that the rest of the interior metal which is silver

keithcuda

Thanks Norway,

Definately going for the wiper mod as the charger i bought off the salvagers has a burned out engine bay. The wiper motor i think is toast (excuse the pun) :flame:

I did paint the inner wheel house, but i sprayed a thick coating with black rubber(PVC).
On the interior i used dynamat + 1" of some fomemat.

I would like to ask why you went with 18's out back and 17's up front, Is it just for the stance? (A little ass up rake?)  28" height for 295/45 and 26" height for 245/45 right? I see more and more people going and inch bigger in the rear and wonder if it is just for the stance. Rule of thumb says same diameter all around for best handling unless your not concerned so much with that as looks and straight line performance. I have been undecided between the Boyd JYD's and the Torq Thrust 2's (Newstalgia of course). I like the fact that the T2's come in 11" wide rim with 5.5" backspacing but after seeing your car and wheels mounted I may go with the JYD's. Too bad the JYD's don't come in an 11" with 5.5" backspace so you could fit even wider rubber out back. Your leaf spring clearance of 2" is the same as my 70. You should be able to go with an 11" and still have clearance. Unless you really start pulling some G's and the flex of the sidewall comes into play. Anyway. Great looking car and can't wait to see it all finished.  ;)
