I need to change the oil pan gasket on my 67 Charger 383. Do I need to pull the motor to do so?

ODZKing

We did mine without, but I had used a lift down the street at a friends garage. I'm not sure you can do it on your back. There is some wiggling to be done there.  :shruggy:

To pull the pan on a 383 you need to drop the steering center link, remove the converter dust shield, remove the pan bolts, clock the crank so the front counterweight isn't hanging below the pan rail then rotate the pan as you pull it down to clear the oil pickup.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Thanks guys. John I'll follow those instructions, and I'll acquire the use of a lift. Thank you!
