Ok, not sure if this goes here or not, after all these years you would think I would though wouldn't you.  :P  I figured the Garage section was for Charger related so Ill start here and the mods can move if necessary.

Friend just picked up a nice 69 Dart 340 Swinger with steelies and dog dishes.  :2thumbs:  The guy he bought it from gave him a set of slotted mags for it. Problem is the mags are 5x4.5 and they don't fit. He said when he measures the existing and they are 5x4 on all 4 corners.  Car seems to be all original and even has the reverse thread studs on the left.

Is a 5x4 the OEM setup on a 340 swinger? I did some searches and even poked around at http://www.hamtramck-historical.com with no luck.  Any help would be appreciated.

yes, 5 on 4 is the stock set up.

I believe they had the reverse threads just for the same time periods as the B bodies. As I recall the studs are slightly smaller than the B body studs to 7/16" instead of 1/2" ?

I had two Darts when I was younger and the wheel selection is a lot less.

My favorites were a set of small bolt pattern Cragars I had on my 67 GT. But I also had a set of Ansen aluminum slots on my 69 340 Swinger.

On the Dart you have to be careful about the fender well on the rear tires. You need just the right offset to get anything bigger than a 235x60 tires in there.

My guess is the A body forums has this down to a science by now.

Triple,

Thanks for the info! Not as up on the A body cars but there is a good opportunity to learn now.

I'm pretty sure the bolt pattern changed in 1973 because my '73 Duster 340 had 4-1/2.
