Trunk Plastic Cover For Tail Lights and Wires - Any Vendors?

Are there any vendors out there for the plastic cover that goes inside the trunk to protect the tail light wiring?   Mine has disappeared.   Not sure if it was during the resto or when I had the wiring fixed recently.  I hope I can find it Monday at the latter, but if not I am gonna' need to replace it.

Saw them on Ebay for $300 which seems quite excessive.

Any help is appreciated.

RMC Components out of California, 423 538 5100 for 200 bucks plus shipping.  Is yours a shallow one or deep one

Skull-1

That's what I am trying to determine after viewing the thread on that subject.

Is there a way to tell?   How deep is deep?

Is yours a later build car?

October 1968.  It had the screw holes at the top like the picture in the other thread...and I believe the fine grain texture.  Smoother of the two would be my guess.

The 2 screws at top middle near trunk latch were used on '70 only

Gotta go look at my trunk and try to remember how I had it installed.   I think for years I never even bothered with the screws because it fit so tightly there was no need for them.

Would that apply to the reproduction one as well Chris?  I ask because they advertise it as being for 69 and 70 so I'm wondering if they sell it with holes in it or what.  Sort of like the repop taillights you know?

A 69 cover shouldnt have any holes for screws....

Mine has the two outboard on top near the trunk opening and the two inboard BELOW the trunk latch.   There is still a piece of plastic and the screw where it broke off apparently...

I bought a junked one off the Internet.   It has cracks but is all there.

1) Where is the part number?

2) Is there anything I can do to shore up the parts where the plastic cracked or am I just screwed?

I considered gluing strips of similar plastic on the backside in line with the cracks but not sure if that will hold up on stuff this old...

Lord Warlock

My original is currently sitting outside on top of one of my future projects, it has some serious cracks in the middle where I was worried it would snap in half if I mishandled it, planned on buying another but not going to if its going to cost me 300 to replace.  I'd rather put the thing back in as it is.  Mine is a 69 and has screw holes, at least in the middle near the trunk lock area, not sure about on the ends, may have to take a look at it tomorrow and see.

I have some JB Weld that would glue the cracks shut and its black so would blend in, may be worth fixing after all.
69 RT/SE Y3 cream yellow w/tan vinyl top and black r/t stripe. non matching 440/375, 3:23, Column shift auto w/buddy seat, tan interior, am/fm w/fr to back fade, Now wears 17" magnum 500 rims and Nitto tires. Fresh repaint, new interior, new wheels and tires.

I dunno if JB Weld is flexible enough.   I was thinking of using SUPER TAPE of some kind or maybe gluing some long strips of flexible plastic to the back of the cover.  That way it can flex a little without snapping.   Only other option would be plastic rivets or something but that would look bad....

Would it snap though?  There might be enough other flexible surface to make up for it.

Dino

CA glue works just fine.  Repaired mine a few years ago and had it in and out at least 5 times since then without cracks reappearing.  You shouldn't have to bend it all that much to install it.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

CA glue.  Okay.  Will look into it.
