I put 4-17x8 mustang gt rims on my slant six duster today with help from the 4 to 4.5 adapters. I think they look pretty cool. I was going to put the bullit type rims on it but a ford buddy of mine had these and 225 50 17 used tires for cheap ($160-rims and tires) so I could not pass them up.They fit nicely with about 1 1/2 inch of space between the tire and leaf springs. they rub a little in the front but I need a front alignment anyways, Ill just have the shop "make the car fit the tires" till I get smaller tires for it.

Does the front of the wheelwell rub on the tire?  Can you lower the front a little with out rubbing?

I just moved it around the yard so I really cant tell you much. It did rub a little. Im going to get 215 45 17 tires for it in the near future. The alignment shop will have to work with it then. There is a bunch of duster junk in the trunk thats weighing down the rear some. It will level out when i clean it out.

You could always radius the front wheelwells a little bit

::) :rotz: Whatever trips your trigger I guess. Those look wayyyyyyyy to big in my opinion. Besides that, I never liked those wheels on Mustangs either.

Yeah they look kinda big on the front, only cuz the front wheels stick out farther than the back on dusters.

terrible one

I think they look good, besides the fact that they look a tad big IMHO. Cool idea!

I wanted something a little different than the OLD SCHOOL look like on my 383 duster.

If you can lower the front over them they would look better. What about putting a Pentastar in the middle of the caps.  That would P.O. the Dorf crowd

Nupe

I think they look OK and you couldn't go wrong at that price.  Now the Duster with the slots is sweet.  I'm a little more partial to the old school look.   :icon_smile_cool:

Maybe get some white letter tires.   The rims look like they are floating in the wheelwell as is.

Headrope

I've never understood the whole try  to make old school look new school thing.
To me it's kind of like settling for someone because you think you can change them instead of waiting for the right one to come along.
You car, though. All that matters is that you like it. Congrats on your deal.
Sixty-eights look great and the '69 is fine.
