big block conversion

i have a 70 charger that i did a swap in and when i got my motor mounts, i just asked for 70 charger big block mounts at the local auto parts store and the motor sits in there just fine.  my question, what is the difference between doing that and buying a conversion kit from year one.

you do not need a kit as long as you have the brakets to bolt to the 440
