All,
Been gathering information on early power sunroofed Mopars ever since I liberated a 1971 sunroof Sebring Plus from a salvage yard in 2012. With some help from Shawn, Chris, Dan, Tan Top and a few others, I have been gathering up all the sunroof cars and putting together some pamphlets for each year. Last fall, I finally bit the bullet and put a website together. Now everything is in one place - please check it out sometime.

www.moparsunroofregistry.com

For now, I will update these statistics links when I have new numbers, but will eventually roll these into the new website:

Here is the link to the 1969 sunroof Charger statistics thread I started:

:2thumbs:  The Green white top green gut 69 I think makes it to Carlisle every year.

Where's Shawn... this stuff should make it to the Charger registry if it's not already there.

Scott. I looked at the pics on the site, very nice collection, including my car.   Scott, one of the first pictures is Ginger, Red Kilby's car......and it has a caption....RIP RED KILBY....I hope this is a mistake. we're not close, but shared a very uncomon love, sunroof Charger. I just called his cell, no answer, can anyone fill me in? John

I was reading his forum posts on his sunroof Charger and his latest posts mentioned that he was battling cancer. Not too long after his last post he passed away.

I think Mr. Wilson broke the news to the forum:

Here is an obit:

I do not know what has happened to Ginger. Probably is tucked away in a garage somewhere.

Out of all the '69 Sunroof cars, what percentage are 4 speeds? What percentage are S.E.s?

I guess both if anyone knows.

They didn't break it down in such as fashion as to know how many were produced with which engine and trans originally but we could exrapolate the known cars.

sdweatherman

If shawn and chris (registry guys I am guessing?) are game, we could combine our 69 sunroof databases and come up with some basic stats for the known surviving sunroof cars. Keep in mind the stats may be a bit skewed towards the more expensive cars (R/T's and SE's)  - these are the ones that were usually taken care of a little better, and are more desirable to restore, so a slightly higher percentage of them are still around. A sunroof on a base 318 XP in a salvage yard would have a very high probability of being scalped. I was shocked that my salvage yard 71 Sebring Plus still had all of its sunroof components. Scott.

My car is fairly loaded, but not an R/T.  A hefty price in 69- $5,400.  My car, supossedly was a dealers personal ride, might have done show room duty.  Wish I knew more. John

69_500

Before my car now I had both a 69 and a 70 sunroof car. 69 SE 318 2nbl car. T7 with tan top. 70 was light green forget the shade, with green interior, white top it was a 500 SE with a 383.

sdweatherman

Hey 69_500,
I think I have your T7 SE listed in the 1969 pamphlet, just don't have a picture to post with it yet. Did your 70 sunroof Charger look like this one?
Edit 7/13/14 - Verified that this was 69_500's car at one time. I think this picture was taken at the 2006 Nats. Can anyone verify that?

Thanks,
Scott.

My brother's '69 SE was an automatic & here's the rest of the OPTION codes, CA car & quite expensive for '69.  Went to Buffalo in the mid-'90s.  What's it look like now?
Scott, could you add some type of identifier for each car, picture may change or look different now?  Maybe by sunroof number?  My brother's was #077.  I have b'cast copies for #s: 48 R/T SE, 77 SE, & 331 SE.

Ghoste

Do you have a VIN for that 69?  I could add it to the registry if its missing.
