Rotisserie - Updates completed...

So, as you may know we (brother-in-law & I) built a rotisserie a few months back.  I estimate the rotisserie saved me at least 12 months, if not more, of time and more importantly permitted me to do the proper repairs my car needed in a much safer manner.  I am grateful to all those who helped/commented on the proper setup and design of the rotisserie.  It could NOT have been built without your input.

Last night I spent a few hours welding, grinding and making improvements to the rotisserie design.

What I learned....

1.) 'play' in the 'leveling slider' is not a good thing.  Always make sure any portion of the rotisserie that 'slides' has just enough 'play' to slide up and down and not 'twist' in any way.
2.) Threaded rod from Theisens is not strong enough and will not last.  I went to our local Fastenal location yesterday and ordered a B7 Grade, high tensile (125,000 psi), 105,000psi yield strength, fine threaded rod.  Additionally, I ordered heavy Duty Hex nuts that will be welded to the rotisserie.  These nuts are the size of two or three of the regular ones you can get at Theisens.
3.) I added grease zerks to the rotating cylinders as they seemed to 'seize' up as the weeks went by.  (one was added, will do the other tonight/tomorrow).

Overall I am very pleased with the rotisserie design and believe it will work great for many others who are at a standstill on their restoration.

I am renting out my rotisserie and have my first customer...  I am personally delivering the rotisserie and assisting in mounting his car to make sure everything is done correctly.
