Don't know if this helps or not, but I will give you a summary of a post response I did on C-C . Most hauling companies are just brokers that post loads on boards like centraldispatch.com. Most guys that haul are small mom & pop independants, looking to fill the trailer between point A and point B. The price quoted compared to what the transport is getting can vary greatly. It may take awhile for someone to pickup depending on location and $$ offered for the haul. If nobody picks the car up in a week or two the may raise the $$ on the post. This is why cars don't always arrive in promised times. As for damages incurred some guys are just more carefull than others.

I used DAS from Minnesota to Florida on my Charger.  I believe it was $850.  I liked it since I was able to drive the vehicle and drop if off and track it online.  Took exactly seven days, a week sooner than expected.  They went over the car and filled out a form and when I picked the car up they went over the car again to check for damage and washed it.  Quality service, but very expensive.

I used Trusty from Virginia to Florida on my Fury.  $520 and bare bones crap service.  No paperwork whatsoever.  I gave them directions to a parking lot to meet me with the car and they got lost.  Rather than wait for me they unloaded the car and then drove it to the correct location...with the oil light on.

I would use both again, but it would depend on the car and the service requested.

Though I haven't had to ship a car in a couple of years, "car on a truck" link -- http://www.caronatruck.com/, has always been amazingly reasonable, quick, and trouble free. I have also recomended them to others, and they were quite satisfied also.

I don't know if they are the best, but I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. They are at least worth checking into.
