I have a 1968 coronet 440 with a 318 in it now running, looking to swap a highly built 383 in it sometime next winter.  Ive been told you need to replace the k member but ive also heard you dont on these cars. Wondering if anyone has some experience with it and can tell me. Also anyone in the wisconsin area with parts or a radiator thatd be great always looking for more parts thanks

All the (non-Hemi) V8 K-frames were the same from 1966(?)-72.  Just different bolt-on motor mounts for small or big blocks.

When they started building rubber-isolated K-frames in 1973-up they started using two different ones for the small & big blocks.  Hence the confusion.

So i need new motor mounts and then my 383 will swap right in

The parts houses don't sell the metal part of mounts that bolt to block. For that you will either need to find here, or good used.

You don't need Schumacher mounts for this.  Just use 1966-72 original Mopar big block non hemi engine mounting brackets, and buy new rubber insulator pads.

Yes, this is true.

You'll need a different transmission too. Just throwing it out there since you didn't mention it. Assuming you have an automatic now and it's likely a 904. A big block will require a 727 and they're a bit longer so you need to do something about the drive shaft as well.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.
