Hey guys i have started the 2nd build on my charger. this time im going all out with a full pro street style car, fat tyres, forced induction, and a cage.

My car came to grief with a shit engine builder stuffed up causing my wedge motor to fail on the high way. i got it home tore it down then kept tearing to a bare shell again.

More please , was a tough car , going even more  :popcrn: :popcrn:

Looks great!
Just don't let the rear end guy who's narrowing rear get carried away like many I'VE seen. Tires be like 6" under fender lip.

looks  mean & nasty with that amount of rubber under the rear   :coolgleamA:   :yesnod: :popcrn:

Here is a shot of the rear end going into the dodge. its a Tri 4 link by Mc Donalds Bros racing. Sorry to say it is a 9 inch  :brickwall: But Dana 60s in Australia cost a shit load more plus there is not much on the shelf ready to go if i break something on raceday
THE DFA CHARGER  (the dont f around charger)

But you don't break Dana's lol ,  :2thumbs:looking good
What's the new engine going to be , ? Keep posting and photos , this going to be good

SYCO_500

Hahaha. Guess thats why they stock heaps of parts for a 9 inch cause they keep breaking.

At the other end of the build my heads and roller rockers turned up. the heads are Indy 440-1 fully ported. Flowed almost 800hp by the time they were finished. still not sure on the induction havnt bought pistons or a cam as trying to work out if I go with the new school twin turbo aproach or the old school Roots injected blower.

Thats a sweet ride. MMMMM blower is sounding pretty cool right about now.

Yeh , blower out the bonnet Is pretty impressive, you might as well go this way, you won't be able to build it as a sleeper, lol love those rims ,
What are those heads, look on the proven engine combo's thread  , Rons always good for advice,
I like your dilemma blower , twin turbos, blower, either Is going to look great, and perform

firefighter3931

Nice project....gonna be a real street pounder !  :2thumbs:

Better look for an aftermarket block...especially with those heads and a blower !  ;)

I like the old school Roots style....an 871 would be perfect  :coolgleamA:

SYCO_500

Yea i am using a mopar mega block. i have heard they can handle a fair bit of power. there is a guy here is OZ putting over 1500hp  through one. hopefully it will do the job

The newer "World Products" cast iron MegaBlocks are pretty stout. Mine is at 4.50 bore and the cylinder walls are at .350 thick. That block is good for 2500HP  :yesnod:

It depends which block you have because some of the previous generation had core shift issues. In a high HP build it's allways important to sonic check the bores and pay close attention to the major thrust side....that is where the greatest side load will be on those cylinder walls.

As for stroke....i would limit it to 4.15in to keep some meat on the pistons. You will need a large inverted dome piston to dial in the static compression ratio where you want it to be. A slightly taller piston will also keep the slug more stable under high boost. Just my thoughts....FWIW  ;)

So SYCO, are you going blower? If you are going to get blowen I would use BDS and there tented intake. I bought the blower drive from Dyers.  :brickwall: He sent me a drive set up for a BB Chevy :brickwall: Had a local guy make it work on the 440.

I would all so contact Reed Cams for the blower cam and see if Dennis is still is cam grinder. Dennis design my cam, I love the heck out if it!  :2thumbs:

Thanks firefighter3931 I am waiting till i get this rear clip back in before I start the engine. I am only aiming to crack 1000hp thats the magic number. the car wont see the track that much so i dont need to push it, hopefully the mega block will hold up, im going to get it checked out before anything gets bolted in.

But i am 99% sure its going to have a blower strapped to it thank to you cudaken. That FED in the back ground looks pretty serious. My next project that im already planning is going to be a charger funny car.

SYCO_500, yes the blower strap is a must! While unlikely you would launch a blower with the pop of valve it has happened! Last thing I want is 150 pounds of blower coming through the windshield! Besides, they look cool!  :coolgleamA:

I would also get a drive belt guard.

Still waiting for the rear clip so i can get it moving. took this shot in the garage yesterday.

Challenger340

Yep, the World Blocks can hold that power easily if built correctly.

IMO,
Not a bad idea to make sure you cut a second Crank Keyway 180* around from the stock one, to keep the drive hub on the Crank when wicking up the Boost at 1,000hp.
just say'in.... it is a REALLY good idea
