Hi all. The 1968 Charger I bought from a member on this board finally showed up here in Australia. Been looking for about 5 years for a good rust free 4 speed with original driveline. This one was advertised last year. JJ1 gold, 383 4 speed. Manual steering, drum brakes, no A/C ..  Fairly good condition. Just finished the panel work, now on to suspension, which is pretty worn out.. no doubt I will have many questions, have already learnt a lot from reading this forum.

Zeeman mentioned  he bought the car from a member here. I like the gold and those wheels, nice Charger you got, is it a 383ci. or 440ci., would a 68' 383 have R/T badges, just wondering?
Is that your years supply of petro in the background, it's a wonder the Feds. did not pick up for photographing the Refinery.
Thanks for the photos.

Yep, car came from a member here from Michigan. Was worried about rust being from the eastern states, but there was only a few small holes in the chassis rails.
Plans are to renew suspension and make a few small upgrades (disc brakes at the front, taller diff gear), and drive the thing..

Down the track I'm planning to weld in subframe connectors & a possible stroker engine build. But really, it's a pretty nice car as is. Has the exact options I wanted - buddy seat, headrests, 4 speed, big block, vinyl roof. Also has build sheet & original paperwork.

The car is pictured as it came off the docks. Previous owner fitted R/T badges - but it's not an R/T. 383 4 barrel.

Nice car Zeeman.  What colour is the interior?

Zeeman

Black interior. I wanted a black or gold car with black interior, probably why it took so long to find one.

If you're going to be rebuilding your suspension, might I suggest you look at Hotchkis' products for some of your components; you will not regret it...

Love the look of its current condition  :coolgleamA:

Great car, but what was the price ? The only reason I ask is that there is another 68 Complete (painted) here for sale at 17K. (blue) All original too. :Twocents:
BTW, why he doesn't he list his location, in his profile.  :scratchchin:  I never understand these people, That don't want to list where they are from.  What's the big secret ? it's not like we want a address.  :Twocents:

Okay, but you need to do your own homework. http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,108886.msg1333166.html#msg1333166

Ill take the Aussies 4 speed anyday over that one.

For the same price, probably. I do have most of the parts to make it so, however I'm thinking about a daily driver for my teenage daughter....  Anyhow it is a long shot that I would get a chance at the car, but if I get a phone call from the seller I may make the trip to look at it.   :yesnod:

Zeeman, Nice score. I did not see this car up for sale on the board. Who used to own it? The reason I ask is I live in Michigan & I never saw it up for sale. I believe this may be my brothers old car. He used to own one that looked just like this back in the early to mid 90's. We always wondered what happened to this car. I have pictures of it at home. I will have to try to find them.
