Autoplicity non-existant customer service

So I recently bought a QA1 k-member from Autoplicity.com. Long story short they have the wrong part listed for sale for a 1970 Charger. I received the part, attempted to install it and found out it was the wrong part number because the engine mounts weren't lining up. So I submitted an RMA with them explaining what had happen and that they have the wrong part listed on their site. I got back the below response back from them. Basically they are saying because they screwed up and listed the part wrong that I'm out $550+. I have contacted QA1 and they are trying to help, but from the way I see it the distributor has the upper hand since they are getting QA1's parts to the market. I guess worst case scenario is that I file a fraud complaint with my bank, but not sure if they would validate that just because they sent me something different than what was listed on their site, but it sounds logical haha... I shall keep you posted, but wanted to give everyone a fair warning here about their lack of any kind of customer service.

Autoplicity sucks. That was my takeaway from a previous bad experience.

In my view there is no credibility to the Better Business Bureau either.  Example, this outfit gets the best rating, A+ from the BBB, and look what you are going thru.

HOWEVER .... why not complain to the BBB. I doubt anything comes of it (meaning you get a refund), but it's worth a shot.

Well before I could get that extreme QA1 stepped up to the plate and said they will take care of me. The difference is night and day! Everyone I have spoken with at QA1 was very helpful and totally went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of. If I didn't already buy the rest of my suspension parts I would be buying the rest from them hands down without a doubt in my mind. If I ever get another car I will be looking at their online store and calling them first for all my needs. Just can't express to the full extent of how happy and pleased I am that they as a business take customer service that seriously.

So a big thank you to QA1 for going above and beyond.

That's great news.

I'd still file a complaint. On principle.

Autoplicity is a drop shipper thats it, no customer service at all no nothing.  The low prices tempt u but in the end it was worth it to get it from manufacture or someone else.

I also think it is worth registering valid issues (stupid ones or vindictive ones are another matter) because some of us check the BBB as a basis for making our buying decisions.  If they are a savy business they will try to address it not only for you, but for others.

Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

If they are still advertising the wrong part for sale well after you have told them in writing, keep a record of this and all correspondence. Then report them for misleading and deceptive conduct.

Before I had to take up the matter with my credit card and the BBB; QA1 stepped up and took responsibility and paid to have the wrong part shipped back and the right part shipped to me. They were awesome through the whole process. I actually got two k frames from them that wee damaged by the shipper and they helped me to replace those as well. We only found out after the third one had been sent undamaged that the wrong part was being shipped the whole time. Even with them side by side the differences were very subtle.

I ended up emailing them back and told them I would never buy from them again and I would never recommend them to anyone I care about. They might have some cheap prices, but that doesn't matter when they don't have the capacity to take care of their customers.
