That was my first thought too. But there are only 3 cars (which there could be and probably is more). Makes me wonder if its for a TV movie, or maybe another reunion movie  :shruggy: This is the first I have heard/seen of anything. Anyways with all the series shows, and the movies....seems they have enough stock footage that can be reused for jump/wreck scenes.

I like the Dukes, but to be honest, after the disappointment of the 2005 movie, and the awful 2007 movie, I wish they would just stop. But if the have to make one, I hope its good & decent, so I can let my 5 year old watch it.

On a positive note, Its cool to see late model Chargers as Hazzard Sheriff cars.

It said it was spotted in Arizona.

***Edit***

Someone just posted this on CGLFC.com...

QuoteNo new movie , those 3 gls are stunt cars , there is a 4th hero car
Which is one of the tv series cars , not the one that the W.B
Still own .

A new commercial with John and Tom being made.

Jason

Ghoste

Makes me wonder what they're advertising and why they need new Chargers for cop cars and four GL's?

GL#10

There doing a bunch of stunts , true to the tv series .

CornDogsCharger

Maybe they'll have a mid-air collision with two cop cars over a ditch.

Would you be angry with the show, or the putz that sold the cars to a TV show?
There are only three. Chargers on the trailer......I can think of TWO 2nd gens that got destroyed right on this site within the last 3-5years and neither had an orange paint job. One was an R/T SE IIRC........

Be nice if they built tube chassis and using all AMD parts! Or maybe they bought all the shit GL's being made by the rip off company that has been spoken about on the site time to time? Healpeg or something like that?

Main think I don't like the DOH rather it is the TV series or the movies is the dispensation of the enforcement personal being stupid and crooked.

Make the cop's honest and doing there job's and Bo and Luke running shine to save uncle Jessy farm I be fine with DOH.

Other odd thought?  :scratchchin: While I hate all the Chargers that where destroyed, it might be the reason the aftermarket started making Mopar Body Panels?  :shruggy:

Many of our younger members started out loving the GL when they where 8 year old and in there teens. They are now the buying class and might be the reason the aftermarket stepped up to the plate?  :shruggy:

Ken has a  LOT of valid points. Maybe those are all tube cars or cars from junk dealers like HALPG out of Illinois. It the cars are made from ground up junk, or tube cars with all reproduction parts, then nothing is really lost.  :Twocents:

Tube cars?  No.

Ground up junk?  Probably yes.

The HLPAG ripoff guys from Illinois already did sell half a dozen raggedy cars to the crew of the 2005 movie for stunt work.  (The crew treated them all as Dodge Charger raw material, not as finished GLs.  All were repainted/etc before shooting.)

Ghoste

Didn't they sell a bunch after the movie as well?

Cross off another 3 Chargers.
Tube cars with repro body panels, all for it go ahead wreck all you want. However even the pigs in lipstick from HLPAG could be put to better purposes than erased from the earth.
The notion that wrecking these cars is the seller's fault is absurd. A seller sells a car to someone, the new owner purposely drives it into a tree, and the seller is to blame?  Sure, the production company is totally innocent.  ::)
The difference between the unfortunate accidents with the members' cars here is just that: they were accidents. Uncontrollable events. Compared to, oops, I just painted it orange and drove it into a train.

Humor is largely based on irony. The irony of the show was that the police were presented as baffoons, and the "bad guys" were really the good guys. Rosco was hilarious.
Hopefully the car stunts are just fun-n-games and the cars come out to see another day.  :yesnod:

Wonder if there is a flag on the roof? Didn't WB say the flag would be no more awhile back? Might as well not even bother doin it without the flag...

Edit, news report says that WB decided they wouldn't remove the flag from the General Lee.

So, if a production company comes to you, asks to purchase your GL, your gonna turn down huge bucks?
It's absurd to think that these production companies do not put out feelers for General Lees. Gee, wonder why this ONE GUY, or THESE TWO GUYS are buying up everybody's GL? Even as absurd as it sounds, Rosco could figure out something's up.

Yet, if it weren't for the DOH, ALOT of 2nd gen. Chargers woulda/shoulda/coulda been crushed, yet, they are being saved.
some the hard way. I offer my own for ex. It would be absurd to even contemplate that without a few eggs being broken, one cannot make an omelet/err movie/err TV show...as for those two Chargers, it would be absurd of me to remark everytime a thread came up about someone wanting to DAILY DRIVE their 2nd gen. Charger, that "There goes another Charger"......

more good points  :yesnod:  :2thumbs:

suppose if I had just bought a hlpag  or a BK  special , after realising what I had done  !!   &  TV / production company came a knocking , offering me a way out & getting my money back & then some !!   I  would be glad to sell to them  :yesnod:

& yes DOH  has been responsible for  saving a lot of cars ,  but still out of order wrecking soo many , when they were still relatively  new then , well  compared to how old they are today 44 /45 years old .

300...

Of course, actual production numbers may vary, but, wasn't there like 275k built between 1968-70?
my math's a little rusty but, can somebody compute that? I'm thinking like .0003 percent or something?
Would it be absurd of me to think more were destroyed by drunk drivers, punk kids, hoarders, crusher, and rust?

Here's another absurd scenario from the opposite end of the spectrum.  :scratchchin:
A seller sells a pile-o-turd Charger to a buyer. That new owner fixes it up to the Charger he's always dreamed of. He even paints it orange.
Should the seller take credit?  :scratchchin:  :shruggy:
And what would Rosco say? Coo-coo-coo...   :icon_smile_wink:

yep I can see what  your saying Cooter , when you look at it like that !! yes I agree !! :yesnod:    the amount of second generations  destroyed in the name of making films & TV shows ,  is really negligible  compared to the chargers built , compared to the  ones wrecked , rotted  &  then crushed  because natural causes  ,
but all these  chargers that were destroyed  in the  name of  tv & film  were destroyed deliberately .
if they were still making second generation chargers ! it would not be a problem
