I have a 77 440 with stock heads and rockers. If i am shooting for a 12 second car and a motor with a little under 490 hp, is it worth the investment for aluminum heads and rockers or would it make more sense to just port my stock heads? Is it going to be the difference between a 13 second car and a 12 second car? This is being built on a tight budget but i wouldn't mind spending the extra money if i would see a significant improvement. Any advice is appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

From what I have read here, there and elsewhere, stock vs stock, the aluminum heads win. Ported vs ported, aluminum wins again. If you have an iron set that needs to be rebuilt, you'll be better off making the jump to aluminum.
