Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone new if Middle GA Speedway was still for sale? I had seen a You tube vid about it and fell in love with the place. (The vid is a couple of years old now though)  Was just wondering, I thought I had seen it listed for just under a million.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qCv7jotaVg.  Thank you for your time. And if any of you have been there? Please do tell.

Don't know- I was there last Aug. for the Racers Reunion and in Sept. there was supposed to be an off road "meet" there. I had heard two things when I was there, one was the owner was trying to get automotive related venues in there and I also heard it was going to be plowed under and houses planted which is what I would guess as there houses fairly close to the place. :Twocents:

That's sad if it's going to get torn down completely. I know time has to move on, but something like that deserves better. Just like these cars we all love, the places where they reigned should be cared for too I think.  I tried to email Jay Leno's agent to pass a message along to him to try and buy it. I know it was a long shot. Just seemed like something he could make happen.   Next step maybe, try and get a group of people to pool their money for it.  It would be cool to see concerts there again at least, maybe a museum or something (I'm sure to restore the track fully and with insurance for racing that would be way too much). Oh well.  Thank you for the information much appreciated, it's very cool you've been there. I've only seen it on youtube.

If you want to spend money on an asphalt  track, look into the half mile track at North Wilksboro NC. That is a HISTORIC track if  there ever was.  You'd be a hero getting cars in there again.

If I looked at the right track in NC, their asking 12 million!!!  :eek2:   the GA one I think was in the 900K mark.  It is awesome though!

I had heard Rockingham speedway which is a one mile track  was sold for around 3-4 mil a few years ago.  I have heard the 12 mil figure on North Wilksboro also and it will fall in before anyone pays that price. There is nothing around out there other than small town history and there is just a small back road to get into the place.   I don't have any knowledge of  commercial property I just pass on what I hear.  What purpose do you have in mind for a track ??
