I get tired of having to explain what I did to my cars...

I'm in---

I do get a little kick our of the know it all's.  And try to be as polite as I can.

The ones that are the most obnoxious are with someone that they are trying to impress with their vast knowledge.

Those that are alone seem to be the easiest to chat with :shruggy:

It is funny how some talk about what they know little about.  At work the other day I was talking to a couple of "motor heads" about engines --hemi/ wedge and others.  At one point I had to stop the conversation and ask one of the guys if he knew what the word hemi means. and for that matter what does wedge mean.  He had to concede  and the others around us just had a  :shruggy: look on their faces.

These guys join conversations about these things and perhaps hope that they will not sound as though they need some help with basics.  ::)

It is however part of our nature to do this.  I got far in my career from doing just that.  When asked if I could do something I learned early on to not say no. I figured I might just fake my way long enough to learn how to do that something before I was found out.  It worked more often that not

why did you do this?"
"How come that is on the car?"
"That's not stock?"
"This should not be there!..."

Good lord man, what did you do to get those reactions?

It'a a long list....here are a few of the highlights:

Cruise control in the Daytona, or building the car in the first place and painting it purple
Coronet R/T hood on the 66 Charger
Dual quads on the same car, trailer hitch (we used to go camping)
blacked out grille, removed the console and installed a buddy seat in a 4spd car...
color matched drums for the stripe on the black & gold 66

like Troy said...the Mopar critics are everywhere if you take yer car to show it at local shows

Been in the Mopar hobby since '72....and I'm sure I have not heard it all...but I thought this sticker or plaque photo kinda sums it up for me and maybe a lot of us....

Will keep you guys updated on how this idea turns out

Unless any of those questions were legitimate attempts to broaden knowledge, it's too bad people can't just say "I see what you did there, nice touch" - or keep their mouth shut if they don't like something.  How hard is that?

You could use that here. Some folks do not even own a Charger on this site.

Really?  :smilielol:

Everyone thinks mine is a 69 for some damn reason and the Mexicans think its a 71.  Is the charger it's self racially profiled?

ACUDANUT

Ok really. How about a window sticker that reads "my car, my way". I think flipping people off is a rude as it gets.
