In the OP, wonder what the image was on the sheet metal to the rear of the front wheel?
A black rubbed out spot, looks like a large badge.
From what I'v seen, cars with this type wheels and rubber, slow down to a slow crawl over railroad track, here is where you can pull away and out run them :smilielol:.
