Not getting power to starter.

Here is my problem.  I am not getting any power to my starter.
I ran a wire directly from my battery to the brown wire (ground) on the starter relay and the starter goes so I know its not the starter or the wire to the starter.
I checked voltage on the starter relay and I got power to all terminals (except the ground for the starter).  I replaced the starter relay thinking maybe it was bad and still have the same problem.

What should I search next?  Any help appreciated.

I'm making a guess. Neutral safety switch?

YES the neutral safety switch ground is the culprit. Thank you.  I ran a ground directly from the ground point on the starter relay to the ground on the battery and the car started.

What am i looking for on this neutral safety switch.  Does the whole switch need to be replaced?  Any ideas?

I'd look at the switch. See if it's loose and out of adjustment.Sloppy linkage maybee. If you have an ohm meter, check for continuity. Another likely week spot is the bulkhead connector at firewall.

Are you trying to start in both Park and Neutral or only Park? If not, try both.

If it starts in one gear but not the other the shift linkage is the problem. If it won't start in either gear, it might still be a linkage problem; disconnect the shift linkage at the trans and manually manipulate the shift lever.

If that doesn't work make sure the brown wire is attached to the NSS (it might have broken/fallen off) then use a meter to check for ground at the center pin on the NSS. If no ground in P and N the switch is likely the problem.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I too had the same problem and the issues wasn't the NSS but the wiring harness for it.. Turns out it had a couple breaks in the wiring and no continuity.

Luckily I found a good NSS harness and she's starting fine w/o the alligator clip jumpers.
