68 tail panel bracket

What is this verticle support bracket besides the rear tail light in this trunk picture? My 68 does not have this bracket.

is it a special option? a export car thing?

looks like it is an option for track pak and hemi cars.

I have a sept 67 build so it cannot be an early build thing.

Many of the cars I've seen with them were neither Hemi nor Track Pack. All of the cars I have seen with them have been very early. I'm pretty sure Dodge just anted to be sure those heavy pot metal lights weren't flopping around and then realized they were just fine with the tail panel alone.
