25 ftlbs should work just fine....that's what i've allways used with aluminum intake manifolds.  :2thumbs:

Torque them in a cross pattern working from the center out.  :yesnod:

The fact that it is aluminum does not change the torque requirement.  FSM calls for 50 lbft.  Seems high.  :shruggy:

500" NA, Eddy head, pump gas, exhaust manifold with 2 1/2 exhaust with tailpipes
4150 lbs with driver, 3.23 gear, stock converter
11.68 @ 120.2 mph

Ch4b what kind of gasket should it take.

I allways use the Felpro #1215 with ultra copper RTV around the ports on both sides of the valley pan and run a bead on the end rails....works like a charm.  :2thumbs:

I have had sealing problems with the older Edelbrock intakes.  Try your plan first.  If that does not work, you can buy paper gaskets that are 0.015" thick and use them on both sides of the pan (4 gaskets).  You should still be able to get the intake on, but it might take a little muscle.  If you get that far and you are having trouble getting the bolts started, send me a message and I can give you some tips to help.

We took this advice from Ron and haven't had any sealing issues as of yet. :)

The 1215 intake kit with 4 paper gasket should I use them or just the ultra copper rtv.

Just use the valley pan and sealer. I have never used the paper gaskets putting an intake on a big block.

:iagree: I've used only the aluminum valley pan with great results. The copper high temp RTV works great when properly applied  :2thumbs:

With ch4b + a 9265 gasket what is the torque for the carb.

Dino

You use the gaskets if the valley pan does not sit flush with the heads and manifold.  If it lines up, as it did on mine, than just use the ultra copper.

I've never used a torque wrench on an aluminum manifold or carb, I just go by feel.  The important part to realize is that you want to re-torque all the bolts a few times after a short trip.  Makes this a habit and the bolts will stay where they need to be.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
