neutral safety switch question

When I put the motor and tranny in my rig, I never hooked the neutral safety switch up.  I have a B&M shifter.  I guess I need to hook it up, to pass tech.  Will hooking the stock plug, on the harness, do the trick?  Or does it just work with the old column shifter?

i just hooked mine up from the harness, i am using a b&m star shifter in mine....
