Lately been planning the remaining life cycle for my cars and was wondering if anyone else thinks the same way? As I see "R.I.P. xxxxx" showing up here a little more frequently ya' have to give consideration to the inevitable...LIFE: no one gets out alive    :eek2:

For me:
2014 -2016 - Drive and enjoy and save $$ for next resto
2016-2017 - 1970 2nd restore
2017-2018 - 1972 2nd restore
2018-2025 - Drive and enjoy
When I have trouble physically working on them I'll sell 'em off and take up shuffleboard. surprisingly my 2 sons don't care about them

polywideblock

for me now the leach is finally out of my life    :woohoo:

its going   to go something like this  early 2014 get the charger registered and on the road   :yesnod:

late 2014 get the roadrunner back from panel /paint and reassemble, been there since early 2013 getting full boogie back to nothing with remains media blasted and then rebuilt from there with 2 full amd quarters   (tread coming when I get all digital  pics etc. from panel guy )

finally after waiting in the dark dusty hole that I called a shed 30 years ago and endin up as shelving for crap ,  the 60 dodge  phoenix(my first real car) will get the panel/paint work started.  again in 2014

seems i'v just been marking time waiting to get creamed by the legal system    :scratchchin:    well it didn't happen there's hope out there for newly single mopar guys not every judge is an A hole    :yesnod:

as to what will happen to them, well I have three adult kids who have made it clear they expect to be left one each   :icon_smile_big: who gets what   :shruggy:    maybe put the keys in a hat and let them draw

  and 71 GA4  383 magnum  SE

tan top

eventually when finances allow  ,
four wheel discs ,
hydroboost ,
either finish building the stroker 440 (496 I've already got a few parts for  ::)
or what I wanted years ago but finances would not allow then either  a Hemi ,
either one , running fast fuel injection & a pro charger set up.
pair of  mossier or strange or ... axle shafts
replace  section of firewall or just cover necessary holes & fit a standard  heater box  , should of done it at time of resto I know  :slap:
maybe a manual trans , maybe a keisler 5 speed  :scratchchin:
new set of 5  recently been repoped indy slot mags :yesnod:

cant see any of that happening any time this decade  :'( :P

maybe the standard heaterbox  swap  :scratchchin:

My short term goals are to keep them forever. Then my wife can sell them, or my daughter will get them.

Long term goals - see above.

Love your gif.   :yesnod:

Drive the heck out of them. My 20 year old loves Mopars too, so the family won't have to worry about getting rid of them when I'm gone.

Add a gear vendors overdrive then drive the hell out of it. Want to do some track days to see what the old tank can do. Also hoping to drive across the country and attend the 2015 hotrod powertour. Starting in California will make it an extra long trip.

After that it is time to move on to another project. Either a 68 Charger, 70 Challenger, or a 70 Roadrunner.  :icon_smile_big:

Getting a low 13 - high 12 would be an achieveable goal.
Mainly just keep it reliable and long distance at the mo, rust neutraliser and coating the underside before too long

The whole restoration of my 69 is a long term plan.
The fact that I only live once is the major reason that i'm keeping the car. Because I wont own another one in this lifetime.
So basically the plan is to continue my full nut and bolt rotisserie restoration.
Greetings from Belgium, the beer country

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

Daytona R/T SE

1. Finish my Daytona.

2. Go through and organize my 30+ year hoard of Charger, "C" Body and Imperial parts.

3. Keep what I need for my Black '72 SE and my T5 Copper '69.

4. Get rid of EVERYTHING else.

5. >>>>> Get the Fu** out of Illinois. <<<<<

6. Start work on the '72.

7. Finish the '72.

8. Throw the AMD catalog at the T5 '69.

That's funny!  Is this is short term plan or in the long term addition?   I wish my wife would put it in the short term plan.....

It's a blast!  Did parts of it the last 4 out of 5 tours.  Doing it again in 2014!  Hot Rod tends to stay East of the Mississippi because of the sponsors.   Have your car transported one way, and then you can do your plan!

There's a few other members here that want to do it, I keep egging the on.  DO IT.  You won't regret it and you'll start making a tradition of doing it.  A few years ago there was a couple that came from Alaska.  The old man just retired, and this was the first trip the couple ever did.

For myself -

Short term-
-Odds and ends on the Coronet
-Restore the Bird in 2014.

Long term-
Who the hell knows... I'm undecided.  I really want to road race, but I couldn't imagine crashing my 68 and the insurance company says they won't cover it.

Continue my quest to build a mid to low 11 sec STREET car that can be driven anywhere anytime in comfort....
Possibly a repaint down the road
Use the car as much as possible for as long as I'm able
Teach as many ford and Chevy guys as possible the errors of their ways at the drag strip :smilielol: :smilielol:
I also see some auto cross and road course events down the road

Well whatever the plans I'd implore people to make sure they get their cars on the road and enjoy them. I have one pal whose making a "Super-street" '71 charger... he's been working on it for years and it will NEVER see anything beyond rolling in and out of the garage in pieces  :rotz:

I'm sorry, what are we talking about? Every time I try to read I see the dancing hurdles girl from Australia and lose my train of thought.

Me too. I keep coming back to this thread to find it, and it just gets worse.
