I see people ask about wiper motor restos from time to time and I don't know if there's many people out there who do this so I figured I'd post this here:

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Interesting. One off the shelf is $265 and yours restored is $325? Am I reading that right?

There is a $175 core charge on top of the $265 for the off the shelf one.

$325 is if you want it back in a timely manner.  Because they have to dip them or something like that.
If you can wait until they send in a batch to be done, it is cheaper.
On the other hand if you don't want YOURS back and just want a same or similar date coded one off the shelf, yes that is the price. She didn't have any of my date code at the time.  Besides, my 73 was in the body shop for 2 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  What hurry was I in!   ::)

The $265 means that I have a plated cylinder in the correct PN and very near your date code on those motors, some people don't really care about the date code though.  The core charge of $175 is if you purchase without a core exchange and I have to supply all parts out of my inventory and replace it.  Check ebay and other places, the "premium" part numbers, 2983116 and 3431077 are harder and harder to find in restorable condition.  The $325 means when I get your motor I don't break it down and just put the internals, etc. into MY inventory, it goes into a plastic bin with your name on it and those pieces are reconditioned while I soak, blast, acid dip and grind your cylinder to prep it for plating.  It goes to the plater and comes back and then is matched with all your original parts.  Unless something is broken or no longer works, all your original pieces are returned and your original motor is just that still the ORIGINAL.  That requires abit more babysitting, requires that I send plating in not on my schedule but on a Special Order basis.  It's easier for me to pull off the shelf and build, but if the owner wants his original motor returned I don't know any other way to do it.

I normally have 50-75 plated cylinders on the shelf to choose from and enough inventory to build while I wait for your core if it's not your original restored.  That takes abit more time because your parts have to be reconditioned and some pieces replated.

Hope that helps with the questions?

Everyone have a GREAT turkey day and don't forget to give thanks for all your blessings!

I was going to say good thread Dino,
But answered herself, they have done every wiper motor for me were a great help on missing parts, first time I got one of there motors or I should say mine back , I was amazed how it looked and more importantly how it operated,
It was fantastic , as good as a current model cars wipers
If you have ever thrown money at a so called rebuild, that's what I had done , and then a friend off mine there recommended passion for mopars, Kim's done all my motors, and
I'm in Australia, worth it to ship to her, faultless job , they know their stuff

Fred

I'm also very happy with Passion4Mopars.

Thank you Fred.  Ground strap is in the mail, envelope between cardboard so hopefully it doesn't get "bent", we'll see how it arrives?

Thanks to everyone for the kudos.  We're doing the best we can in a small two person shop     :yesnod:

My 3 speed wiper motor was missing the pigtail for the back up lights. Called Kim and asked if she had that part. She did and sent one out quick asking only that when I needed the motor restored she would get the job. Not ready to restore it yet but when I am she is getting the job. The guy in the Craigslist ad may do good work but Kim's getting my money.
