Will a 295/50/15 fit on a stock 15x7 mopar steel wheel (69 superbee 6pk car). I'm not sure what the stock back space was. Thanks

no. The biggest I have ever seen on a 7" rim was a 275/60r15 and it was pushing the limits of that tire. I run a 295/50r15 on my car mounted on a 15x10 rim.

I agree. 7" sounds like you might be pushing it, but you could ask a tire shop to mount one just to see what it looks like. I've got the same tire mounted on 15x8.5 inch rims with out any problems.
Still looking for 15x7 Appliance slotted mags.....

BF Goodrich says that 8 inches is the minimum acceptable rim for a 295-50.

15x10 is ideal and they look great! On Chargers the B.S. tends to be 4.5". I have 275-60 15's on 15x8 wheels. They look good too but in hindsight 295-59 15's w/10x15's would look mo betta. Shoulda coulda woulda.  :shruggy:

You can put a 295 on a 7" rim, but the sidewall bulges out so much you can only run them at 20 psi to get full tread face contact. Running at this low a psi tends to create more heat in the tire. The low pressure produces poor handling and excessive wear.

I think 295s look best on 9" rims. 10" is just a tad too wide, IMO.

when I wrecked I had 275-60-15 on cop car rims and I was running about 10 psi. to keep the tread flat on the road. When I was sliding sideways the tires laid over and the sidewall was scrubbing the road. Don't run under inflated tires :rotz: as you won't have control if you get in trouble..

I go back and forth on the 295s on 15x8 vs. 15x10 debate all the time. Right now I have 295/50/15s mounted on 8" rims on the rear and it looks decent and performs well but I'll probably be switching to 10s someday. I don't completely like the standard 15x8 offset with that size tire. I've got a good 3" of space between the outside of the tire and the inside of the stainless trim and I'd like to move the tire out more. That size tire is pretty "meaty" on its own and if you like that look (I do) it is ruined by the restrictive width of an 8" rim. At least that's my current opinion, subject to change.

They look quite wide in these first two pics.

But once enveloped by those massive Charger wheel wells they look pretty puny.

Amazing isn't it?  When I picked up my wheels last summer I was surprised to see the size of them.  17x9.5 rims with 275/50 on them and they looked massive.  Once under the Charger...not so much.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

The 275 60s being a little taller fill it up better i find than the 295's.
295 50 is about 26 inch and 275 60 is close to 28 inchs.

I like the look of the 295s on the back height-wise. they're the same diameter as my fronts which are 245/60/15.
