New Cam ...more vacuum = higher oil consumption ?

Hey Folks

Swapped my cam out last spring to a newer Lunati 603 from a Mp. .509

My vacuum went fron below 10" at idle to 15"+ at idle.

The 440 is running great but this year the engine has been going thru oil !
ive done a lot more driving at higher RPMs this year 31-3500 rpm just because the power band is so smooth in that range where as before I tended to stay in the 28-3100 rpm range.
Im using about a quart per tank , the plugs were nice last time I checked but as the weather got colder in the fall the car became a little stinkier at the exhaust.  no leaks and no blue smoke ?
Could the higher rpm and higher vacuum be causing the higher oil loss ?
Im running a six pack setup with a pcv and oil vapor line to the breather, have noticed a bit more oil seeping around the six pack breather trim, at the base .

Higher vacuum should not be causing increased oil consumption...at least not if it's a ring problem. Higher vacuum should be helping with ring seal...not hurting it.  :scratchchin:

Might be time for a wet/dry compression test fallowed by a leakdown.  :yesnod:

Have a look again at the plugs for signs of oil burning. It could be coming in through the valve seal(s) or an intake port(s).  :scope:

I'd also look at the PCV valve....it could be defective.

Are the valv covers baffled? If not, could be sucking it through the pcv
