Is it all original or an older restoration?  It looks like some 'bondo' in the one crack of the quarter panel... ??

ajay716

last one, let me know what you guys think...you think its worth more than 5 and if i get him down to 5 its a steal? let me know please and thank you!!!

at 5k with very little to do, id be all over that car. yep its worth more than 5. if you put 5k in that last car after purchase, it wouldnt be up to this cars caliber. my opinion :2thumbs:

he said it was repainted in the 80's i guess, idk i cant really tell from the picture but im sure a little bondo did get used, he said where the one side was worse when he got a tow one time the strap or something scraped that area causing it to start to rust...who knows. but i still think its worth it what about you guys?

and one more question, if i cant get him down to 5....whats the highest number i could go up to before i would be losing money or making a bad investment rather?

Well, better than the last one. At least this is unmolested. Running I assume. A/C work?
SE is the Special Edition package which for the most part is some standard options and the louver windows.
Brougham is the interior package.
I would go through the same inspection as you did with the other.  Obviously you still have sheet metal rot there. And that is only what you can readily see. The hood is screwed up but no doubt fixable, and I don't mean the scoop. It's bowed in the middle.
Fenders and quarters for 73-4's are limited to used or NOS.  No new stuff out there so keep that in mind.
I'd see what I could get him down to - and make that a point ... no sheet metal, but a better car definately for the money.

I agree with nvrbdn...   comparing this car for $5k to the one you were looking at for $3500 there is no comparison.   Get in your truck.. on a plane.. or hitchhike and GO GET THIS!  Well, test drive it first and if you are OK with it.  If you are... I wouldn't walk away without it...  IMO...

ajay716

okay lol im going to try he said he has someone comin to look at it today im keeping my fingers crossed that they dont get it, i will know by 2 oclock and if he says i can ima be leaving a little after that...do you guys think this car will get me back okay? ill know a little more when i drive it but im scared to go on the thruway with it kinda. and what gas mileage does this the 400 get? like 10 mpg highway? and the guy has a replacement quarter panel for it and rockauto sells them too...what did you mean when you said the thing about NOS or used? sorry im new to this stuff what does that mean cause like i said ive seen them a few places

nos = new old stock  the car should get around 15mpg i would think. and as long as she seems to run pretty good, id say it should make the trip fine. me personally, i take the trailer and tow them back every time. several guys here have flown to them and drove back.

nos or used is basically saying that if you dont find used fenders, or someone doesnt have new old stock parts setting around, you are up a creek on getting these parts.

Try for 4500 or less, this is no 69 charger...
This car looks better then the last but still needs 1/4 work done and I'm sure stuff you don't see.
Go in with the attitude that it's harder to come by 5k nowadays then a 73 charger.

ACUDANUT

Personally, I would find a 71/72 Charger.  Brown and Green cars are  :eek2:
