The jack in my '68 is long gone so I have kept on eye on items for sale. Figured it would be nice to get a correct jack and spare tire for my car. Assembly date of my Charger is early March 1968.

Now, I know the hook should have a date code stamped on it. But I have come across several jacks without any date code, but they have all looked correct?! What's the story around that? Anyone knows? Early jacks were not stamped maybe? Replacement parts?

You may want to research weather or not a jack for an RT is different than an SE.... I know they are different for 69 models....

No S.E.'s in '68. The jack for an R/T would be the same as an XP.

As far as to what is correct I'd like to know also.  ;)

You might want to do a search on the topic because there are quite a few questions and answers about it on this site. But yes, the short answer is that many of the jacks did not get date coded. Why? I don't know.

Here's a decent bumper jack thread: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,58857.0.html
