Sounds like you did the right thing. It takes a strong person to realize that! Good Luck.  :2thumbs:

Agreed.

I'll add that you are in no position today to judge if the 9 years was a failure. You have to go forward 2 or 3 years and then reflect back on those 9. So go easy on yourself.

My two cents: you have to have immediate amnesia about this, or you'll just be in an endless downward spiral. Just like a ballplayer who strikes out, you got to forget it and be prepared for your next time at bat. Amnesia, now. It works.

Stuart,

I'm very sorry to hear this news, and also know firsthand how difficult decisions like that can be for a business owner.  You've had to make a tough call, and at least that part of the guesswork is over.  Now, you get to the "adventure" part where the next chapter is written.  Even if you land a great job, it can still be hard not to wonder "What If..??".  You did your best, and shouldn't blame yourself for factors over which you had no control.

Hope things work out perfect for you and your family.

So so sorry to hear & read this, keep your chin up, the bad economy has effected many people, your not a failure, you just moved on to something else, I wish you & your family the best of luck in your new adventures & a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New year, enjoy your new job, enjoy a paycheck & don't be too tough on yourself... I've started & closed 3 businesses over the years, sometimes it's just for the better, sometime when one door closes, another opens...  :Twocents:

Sorry to hear this Stu. There is something to be said for those who have the guts and vision to go out and start a business. Hard work, dedication, it takes an above average person. Thats you. You can't pick the fruit if you don't go out on the limb, right?  Now you just got to find another tree to climb.

That's rough and having helth complications from it doesn't help. Best wishes to you and your family.

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

Hey Stu...if it makes a difference, you have more balls than I ever had, you gave it a shot, followed a dream ...and it's just the times we live in I guess that made it not work....you are far from a failure, or someone who thinks it was time wasted...hats off to you, and all the best....

But, that being said, and ya, you dont know me....but still...I follow threads....so get the trans in and enjoy your ride again, huh?

Stay tough, you might have lost material things, but you have the best things in your life, the wife and kids.

Can't believe I missed this. Sorry to hear this Stu. I agree with everyone. Keep your chin up and just think of everything you learned about running a business. This will only help you in the future. Gaining knowledge is never a waste of time.

Good luck on your next endeavor. Glad you already have some options.
