Thank you and yes the stress from this place did cause me to get shingles really bad 2 1/2 years ago and that led to fluid on my heart causing me to have a heart attack , the heart attack was going to happen because of a blockage but the stress greatly sped it up .   Now a diabetic also with high colesterol and blood pressure too it is time for a change .

You are NOT a failure buddy! You made that business work for 9 years! That says a lot about your character, work ethic and tenacity. Like your family and friends I'm damn proud of you.

x2 Son. Hang in there....Family and Health are the 2 most important things and both will help you to move forward.

Stu,

Sorry to hear about this.  But like others have said, you are far from a failure.  Look at the Birdible and other cars you built!  That alone makes you a success!  You also ran a business for 9 years when a lot of others could not have made it last probably for half that time.  This economy sucks big time.  If anyone has failed, it is the government, not you, which led it to get to this.

Main thing is that you are alive and well and jobs may come and go.  My wife might be shortly getting laid off in the next month or two so we too have been feeling the stress but things will change and improve.  Things happen for a reason.  Who knows, maybe there was something bad that was going to happen to the salvage yard?  Fire, DEP come in and find things you weren't aware of, etc?

If you need to talk or just vent, we are all here for ya buddy!   :2thumbs:

Sorry to hear that Stu, change is never easy, forced change really sucks.

Be strong in your faith as you are in the Lord's care.  There is a reason and a season for everything this life has to offer.  That season has passed, now onto your new mission.

Disappointing for sure but maybe a bit of a relief too? Sometimes you want something so badly but once it's gone (and with it the stress) you don't miss it.

I know it doesn't help but I have felt your pain and more .......In 2008 my marriage fell apart thanks to a cheating wife that I use to walk around on egg shells to please. After the bitter divorce started she cleaned out my businees account at the end of the month. That caused my payroll and rent checks to bounce. I fought to keep everything together but eventual defaulted.  Lost the biz, the house, the truck, the boat, but somehow managed to hang on to the Charger.

After losing everything and stressing for months I finally felt relief.  I am now in a better place mentally and I am slowing getting back on my feet. It's been a hard road but I am stronger because of it.

Only advice i can give you.....Time for some new goals and dreams!

Wish you all the best my friend!!

Sorry to hear this Stu. Making it work for 9 years is not a waste it's something to hang your hat on in today's time. With all the upstarts that are out there not many make it more than a year or two. Hope you find something that you enjoy. Nothing worse than having a job but it being something that you do not enjoy.
