hello all, can anybody tell me where the factory ground straps are on a 1966 charger. I have some issues with flickering lights.

moparmanic

I have found a ground strap on the fire wall to wire harness, at the front radiator core support. Where is the factory ground strap for the chasis?

ODZKing

Hmmm, can't speak for under the dash but the one I can think of at the moment on my 67 is the one from the block to firewall.
And naturally negative to block.  Is that what you are asking?

The engine compartment has only 3 grounds.  1. Negative battery cable to front of engine  2. Negative battery cable to radiator support  3. Rear of engine to firewall.

That's the one I need thanks, I thought it went to the wire harness. After cleaning up the engine bay I can see it at the rear of the valley pan. If my lights have a bit of a flicker with all lights on does that mean I have a bad ground? I don't see a ground strap for the chasis. Is the fire wall strap for that?

ODZKing

Well, my 67 has never had a ground to the radiator support. I am not sure if it is supposed to so I can't say it doesn't.
My 73 does but not the 67.
if there is another under the hood, I am not sure where it is. My old firewall strap was beat so I purchased a new one.
I would have to get on my computer but I could tell you where I got it. It is a very hecty gauge wire style where my 73 is the flat woven silver.

Oh and that would be the place to start is with the ground strap.
all lights or certain ones?
