need help with identification of engine code

The engine pad has the following


D440
CH 1959
8 31  HP2

Any hellp would be appreciated.

D is 1968 440. HP2 means high performance block. i'd say out of a charger R/T, GTX etc.. 8/31 means date code.. i would GUESS it was from 8/31 1967 correct for a 1968 charger
