Would post a sharply focused shot on a contrasting background? It's too fuzzy for my 60 yo eyes. :shruggy:

So how many feet are required?

Agree. Truck lid seal. This forum saved me from screwing the pooch when I was ready to install this seal on my 69.
The top "flap" thingy faces outward and, VERY important, this seal mounts on top of the trunk surface not around it.
I used 3M "black snot" adhesive. Have 10-12 small clamps handy for your install. Clothes pins may work IDK. I used tiny woodworking squeeze clamps. The idea here is to just hold the seal in place not crush it. Lay the seal around the opening as best you can before hand securing it with pieces of blue painters tape.
Begin attaching the seal centered on the trunk opening surface at the bottom over the latch. Apply a very small bead (1/8" or less) of adhesive to 12-18" of the metal surface at a time and gently lay the seal in place. A little bit is all that's needed here. This adhesive has a short "working time" so work in short sections as mentioned. Clamp it where you begin and DO NOT stretch the gasket as you work around the opening, just lay it on. Apply more adhesive in sections as you make your way around the opening. The corners will require the most clamps to hold it just so. I think I used one clamp at the beginning and end of each radius and one in the middle. The inside edge of the gasket should be flush with the inside lip of the metal mounting surface. Before you start lay some of the gasket in place and you'll see what I mean. When you arrive at where you started. Cut the gasket a tad longer than it needs to be. You want this joint to be snug but not buckling the gasket. I put a small dab of adhesive on the end of the seal before mating it up for a perfect joint.
I know my advise here is long winded but many folks have had nightmares getting the seal installed correctly.
I can't tress enough how important it is to NOT stretch the gasket as you go because if you do the corners will be a bitch to radius properly and over time a gap will appear where the gasket ends meet.  :Twocents:

Thanks twodko for the help. Do I have it right, A is the base and B points towards you if your standing behind trunk? Nevermind on this. Took it out to my car and had a look. Thanks tan top. lw

Yep, that's the correct orientation.

Just remember you want it to keep moisture out, in that sense its placed like an oil seal with the upper edge pointing toward where you want fluid to stay.

Use a contact adhesive like EvoStik, coat both the trunk lip and the seal and let it dry before fitting it.
