Fred

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that all hemi cars with auto transmission came with 8.75 diffs with 3.23 gears. The 4 speed came with danas.

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

You could get a 4.10 (only) Dana with an automatic Hemi (or 440) from 69-71 as an option....but yes - an auto Hemi was an 8-3/4 (with 3.23 gears....3.55 was the next option) as base equipment.

Ghoste

And don't feel bad because there are a lot of folks who believe all Hemi's had Dana's.

I believe that gear was an option for your car. Sure grip was also an option.

So I guess 6 pack, 4 speeds got the Sure Grip Dana 60 3.54, as per my car?
NEW ZEALAND (aka Paradise)
1973 De Tomaso Pantera GTS widebody
1970 Superbird, 6pack, 4 speed, Tor-Red, Buckets, restored by Julius
1970 428 Cobra Jet, 4 speed, calypso Coral, white shaker
1970 Boss 429 KK2457, Concours, Calypso Coral (SOLD)
1957 Chevy truck, big rear window, ocean green, STOCK!.....nice!

maxwellwedge

Any 440 or Hemi 4-speed got a Dana....as required equipment

All 4 speed Birds were 3.54......(A33).   A34 (4.10 with 4 speed) was not available.

A32 (4.10 with automatic) was not available.

A32 and A34 were available on all 440 and Hemi B and E-Body cars..(Non Birds!   ) ..I believe starting in 69 until at least 71.....but they only had one code for auto or 4-speed in 71.

I have a question, in the early 90's a buddy of mine had a orange 70 R/T Challenger with a 383 4spd. and a dana, he swears it came that way, I said no way with a 383. :shruggy:

maxwellwedge

You are right - never.....I always say, "Show me the build sheet".

In the early 90's the car was 20+ years old....did he buy it new?

GOTWING

NOPE !  :icon_smile_big: and here is the best part it had glass front fenders on it. :yesnod:

maxwellwedge

Now those glass fenders might have been factory...........
