I better get off my butt and finish this thing or I won't have it ready to drive it to storage in a few months.

I'm glad I finally started work on this but yeah, it sucks not being able to drive it.

HA! took me from June 15th to Aug 9th to get the carb rebuilt and the rad re cored and put back in.  Welcome to the club!

Yes it does! I ordered a new radiator Aug 1st so I pulled the old one to get ready to throw in the new one. First one showed up damaged, sent it back,  and got the EXACT same damaged one back 3 weeks later!    Was told that was I was wrong and that was impossible, that they would never ship damaged items but it had my note still on it explaining the damage. Customer service guy didn't know what to say after that. Finally received the new one yesterday and it looks good. Only took 48 days! Should get the car up and running on Saturday.

The club sucks but just think how nice it will be when all the new stuff is on.

I'm pretty happy with my performance this summer. On August 1st the odometer showed 1.3 miles and now, look at this mileage as of 9/11. The speedo reads about twice what reality is but still, I've been having fun... finally... after 8 years.

Ha, bought my 73 in September of 2010 - 9/20/10 to be exact. Drove it for one month to see what it needed, then took it apart and waited 2 years for it to be painted/finished. October of 2012 back home - THEN had to wait all winter while we put it back together.  We worked one hour each evening after dinner if the garage wasn't too cold.
And finally it was drivable in June of 2013.
I know guys have waited longer but I'll tell ya, I can see how folks loose interest in a project like that.
Yes, that club sucks!

Dino, this year has probably been the worst for me also.  The Charger has (1) day of driving on it.  About a whopping 100 miles.   I hope to get it on the road again tomorrow.   WTF.  I'll probably put it in storage in 3/4 weeks.

I just got mine home yesterday afternoon after a 3 plus week wait but it's been raining ever since but I have a rebuilt 727 that shifts AWESOME!!!! Also  installed a mini starter with blanket and AL @ http://www.freakride.com/ sent me 2 new motor mounts as one of mine was toast..on his dime   I waited 7 years to drive mine so I do know how it feels. now if the rain would buzz off I have to wash her up for the car show tomorrow.

Sent mine to paint 1.5 years ago, body shop keeps telling me " next week for sure ". I couldn't remember if I had power steering the other day when some one asked. Sucks sucks sucks.

I've done 5700 miles since May 17 last year when I got it road legal. I dread taking it off the road for more than usual maintenance so I really take my hat off to you guys that do the multi year resto's. My wife and daughter would probably have me committed  if I couldn't drive it regularly.

This one have owned for almost ten years, never driven it 5 years now in the build , eight of those accumulating parts, building the engine for it, just measured and put my yoke ends for tail shaft with slip yoke in to get it made and  balanced, found the receipt in the box , dates back to 2009, realised at that moment it's taken awhile, Dino I feel for you , but ther is always someone worse off , you will be back behind the wheel in no time ,

Drove mine regularly from around March 1976 until late 1982 when I put it in the garage for future restoration. After many years of it just sitting in my garage and numerous offers to buy it, I finally started my restoration on March 2007. After many trials and tribulations, including serious health problems for me (stroke in June, 2010) and a boatload of money, it finally became restored enough to be drivable in June, 2013. It is still not completely right but, I can tell you, it is great to take it out on the road again!

Six long years and many bumps in the road but, it is worth it! Driving it back home from the engine shop in Conroe (about 25 miles) and putting it in my garage for the first time in 6 years was a fantastic feeling!  Just driving it for the first time since 1982 was a special moment for me!!
