Advice on cam for this 440

FIL just purchased a 440 that was built many years ago, but was hardly used. Spent many years tucked away in garage. FIL tore it apart and found it is bored 30 over, with Keith Black kb146 pistons with stock rods. The heads are stock but have been ported and polished. He hasn't CC'd the head yet, but estimates it would be around 10.3 to 1 compression.

The car is a 1970 Superbee with 4 speed and 3.91 gears. He is looking for a hot street motor and needs to choose the correct cam, intake, carb setup. Hoping to be around 500 hp, but also for it to be manageable on the street. He was looking into the Hughes Whiplash cam, but the compression ratio may be too high.

Any suggestions?

Have a look at comps extreme range , you can also use the simulator to help with cam selection .
You put in all the parts combination compression flow of heads etc, what your intended use is etc and they recommend cam shafts , I did it this way when I built my engine and before I found this site and all the great help and advise from the guys on here, be patient this will be read and replied to soon many times, look for tons advice ,
What are you intending to use car , street strip , cruising , ? Give us your intentions for cars use so you get the right advise

Does the car have power brakes ? If so, that will put some parameters on cam selection.  :yesnod:
