I don't know which is more scary, the condition of the car or the price

moparstuart

the holy grail   69 hemi 4 spd  ,  built sheet there  i'm going to say it should sell for  30 k   but i'm betting the reserve is higher

GO SELL CRAZY SOMEWHERE ELSE WE ARE ALL STOCKED UP HERE

F8-4life

That build sheet saved the day for that car.
Should be interesting to see what it goes for.

tan top

forgot to ad the build sheet picture   :slap:   :yesnod:

another tri  color combo !   T7   , tan top  &  black interior   :scratchchin:

How much was the rusty Hemi C500 a month ago 45k ? and it had a motor in parts and some sheet metal.

This one does look a little more solid.

There was a rusty hemi 500 project @ the nats swap area, same car?
I'd personally rather have a hemi RT then a 500, for obvious reasons. lol

paironines

There was a blue 69 hemi RT on moparts maybe two years ago for 18k with trans and grill, no motor, and I believe a 68 hemi project sold last year at auction for 30-32, so I think this one will pull  about 20-22k. Nice project nontheless.

That's the one. I have a 500 fetish lol.

Sorry, but I do not see the crazy amount of value in such a car.  If more than 1/2 of it survived, sure.  It "was" a great and rare car.  Can it be brought back from the dead, of course.  Cars in much worse shape have been rebuilt by this sites own members.  But, the original hemi motor that makes it so great is gone, the front clip is gone, the remaining metal is 1/2 gone.  It will be a clone of what it once was.  It will never be an original survivor, yet once it is all rebuilt it will sell for 75k.  I would take a clone with all the original metal over that.  The does not mean it is not cool to see at least some of it does actually still exist or that it is not a worth rebuilding.  I just don't see it as the 1 of 207 cars it "once" was.   :Twocents:

I would really like to own this car ~ Sent the guy an email trying to gain a clue on what kind of money he wants, and nicely asked what his reserve was... We'll see where he's at...  I would go up to $30k for it ~ And do a full restoration over the next god knows how many years...  I would love to own it, but we'll see what happens...

i agree....your just paying for the paper in this case.  people go nuts over that build sheet....theres guys out that will for fender tag, build sheet, and invoices and then build a rotted out car such as this one and attach that build sheet to it after buying the whole amd catalogue.....oh well.

I would have to disagree fully, you can always find an engine, but the car itself is very rare. In this case the car being a very significant part of Chrysler history.
A hemi car could have easliy blown it's motor 5 years off the showroom floor. So what it is still a j code car.

70moparman

J code 69 Charger R/T = WORTH RESTORING AT ANY COST ~ And AMD parts?? I dont think so... Id buy a nice 318 car and use the whole front clip/ doors, quarters, whatever... Fix it with mother moper factory parts...  Let this car fall into my hands... It will see chrysler sheet metal and era correct 426 Hemi again!

It is hard to ignore what this car is, no matter how far gone, or what it needs...  I would feel the same way about a Hemi Cuda, or a Superbird, or a Daytona.  It is what it is, and I would love to own it...

tan top

:yesnod:   looking at the body  don't look bad from the pictures  , don't take notice of the quarters & rear valance  , they coming off any way & trunk floor  , my betting by the time you blast or wire brush it , will have a few holes or thin spots ,
from the pictures seems a pretty easy fix  ,  if you got the dough for the parts , its    just time consuming to do a factory appearing job  ,  :Twocents:

I would be very supprised  if there was another  with that color combo of T7 tantop & black interior  :scratchchin:

Which is why unfortunately most are going to take the easy way out and rebody it.

70moparman

Called the owner and talked to him this evening... Says his reserve is over 30k, but after talking to him a while, I have him willing to take $30k it sounds like... I also looked at a V code 70 cuda tonight, really like that car too, and its in better shape... Dont know what to do, Im going to sleep on it...  I will call both owners tommorrow and see if I cant strike a deal with someone...  Really want to fix this car up, the right way... NOT REBODY THE WHOLE CAR, JUST CUT AND HANG FACTORY QUARTERS, AND PUT A FRONT CLIP BACK ON IT, FIX ALL THE RUST, MAKE THE BODY PERFECT, PAINT IT THAT BEAUTIFUL T7 BRONZE COLOR AGAIN, AND PUT A 69 DATE CODE 426 IN THAT BABY!  I would not be buying this car to resell, I would take my time to have and enjoy and drive for the rest of my life... If I end up getting that V code cuda, it will be painted FJ5 and get a Hemi and 4 speed as well...   What to do??!!

exactly, whoever buys it they are paying for the documents then gonna add the documents to another build up or build this up which will cost a small fortune itself.

1974dodgecharger

Get the Charger! You sound like the perfect owner that car needs to be brought back to glory.
Although a 6 pk cuda is great too, my vote will always go with the charger!!
The cuda wishes it had lines like a 69 charger.

Ghoste

I agree!  I wish I were in a position to do it.
