Can anyone attempt to decipher this tag???

UPDATE-

Here is what I can sort of make out when I hold it up to a mirror and try to read it.  The numbers in parantheses are ones I am guessing on.  Others may be questionable too but this is all I got...no broadcast sheet to be found  :icon_smile_sad:

END

G_3   J25  L31  M21  M_(1)  _1_

A01  A04  B51  016 C(5)5  __(5)

R4  R4  C6X  X9  2(9)3  928124

E61  D32 XP29 G9B 385623

Like I said..some may be incorrect...I tried to read them but it is a very bad tag.  Can anyone fill in the blanks based on an incomplete code???
If anyone can help I do appreciate it!!

seriously though, flip it over and post the numbers you can read.

Wow!

It looks backwards.  Try turning it around and brighten the picture up as much as you can.

It's probably backwards because the front is all rusty. Flipping it over to the back usually makes them easier to read.

See if this helps...

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Looks like an R4 red / x9 black interior 383 2bbl /auto trans car

Looks like possibly no vinyl roof  (second R4 stamping)  unless the car was built at St. Louis plant .....most times they stamped R4 twice and also got a vinyl roof.....

Please Register the car if you havent already

Appears to be a G plant code in the fender tag.

Also looks to me like it had the A01 and A04 packages, as well as 3 speed wipers. Only other codes I can make out at B51, G33, L31, and M21. I guarantee it has a M31 as well. ;)

Shakey

Now try this one.   :D

Yes..it is flipped over because I cannot read the front!  I was hoping maybe someone could try to blow it up or something.  When I get home tonight I will post the numbers that I can read and hopefully you guys could help! Can ypu tell what the codes are that you can read?

Sounds like a plan.  If you look on the registry site you will find a fender tag decoder with all the codes as well.

I do have a tag decoder..but was wondering if anyone could take an educated guess to what the blanks may be.  I reposted what I can almost read

chris, are you saying that st.Louis built cars may have the paint code twice on the fender tag and no vinyl top code but still came with a vinyl top.

No. Basically, with a Hamtramk built car there will be only one color stamped into the tag if the car received a vinyl top.  No top got 2 color stamps.
With the St. Louis cars, even though the car had a "V1*" code, it still got both colors stamped

The ones missing should be....

C16, C55, G15, G33, M31, R11, Should be a vinyl top code...(probably where the rusted spot is gone....)

The build date is scrambled.

Cars in your VIN range were built either 519 or 520
