First off....sorry no pics.
I have found a 69 Charger for sale near me. It is a 383 car...has a 383 in it (not sure if is original motor or not). automatic.  It has 68 fenders and grille(I have a good 69 grille). The body is in decent shape....bondo in the lower quarters and pin holes in the tail panel....but trunk floor and floor pans have been replaced with new (looks like a good job) and frame rails are great. Roof, rear window area, doors, hood, and fenders are decent(no rust)....interior needs carpet and headliner and fronts seats are out of something else...but other wise all there. It has a new 3 core radiator, master cylinder, and wheel cylinders. starts right up and goes through the gears fine. I couldn't drive it because they didn't have the brakes bled out yet. But it shouldn't take much to be able to drive it. All the vin numbers and title match...no fender tag or build sheet that I know of yet.  We have settled on a price of 7,000. I thin it is a good deal for a running, mostly complete 69 with all the vins and title......but I wanted to consult the experts.....so what do you guys think?

sorry...no pics.     I forgot...it also has a new gas tank and dual exhausts.

What does the underneath look like?

moparsons

Underneath looks surprisingly good....I crawled all over poking and scraping with a sharp screwdriver and couldnt find any serious rust at all. Rockers are good as well. It is by far the best shape rust wise I have found in my home state (WV).

Gotta have pictures before we can give a decent estimate... :yesnod:

Yes, I know I have too many cars. My wife reminds me daily.

I dont have any to post......it is under gray primer and has slots on it.

i feel that a good running/driving charger with a decent body and a good shape under carriage is definately worth 7,000.00. i have seen rust buckets go for 5,000.00 with or without a war beaten engine. :shruggy:

Thats what I am thinking. I want a project that I can take my time on and drive in between stages. It will take only a few hours work to drive it.

right, you can drive this car while improving it. best of both worlds. :2thumbs:

myk

Just from your description I think a car like that would normally be sold for $7-10K.  I'd jump on it if you are in the mood for a project.  Personally, if you can find one that's built or close to being finished I'd recommend that route...

Not to be a pesimistic, but being sold in primer is never usually a good thing. Check it over real good could be a mess underneath.

Still 7k for a driving car without a rotted unibody is pretty decent.

Dino

Any 69 that is not breaking in half and starts and drives is worth $7K and probably then some.  If you like it then go for it.  Even if it turns out not to be your cup of tea, you can get your money back without too much trouble I would say.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

That is my thinking Dino....but I may have missed out. Apparently....while I was talking to the wife....the husband (who was at work)MAY have it sold already....they are supposed to call me this evening. With any luck.....pics tomorrow  ;-)
