That's all we can hope for. The material stuff really doesn't mean anything.

Hope grandma can adjust and find solace. You too.

It's always nice to hear about families coming together to reaffirm the family bond. Unfortunately, as we get older, this usually happens at funerals for loved ones. Having been to a couple of funerals recently myself on both sides of the family, they are sad days for lost loved ones and good days because we get to visit with relatives we seldom see as our busy lives seem to take its' toll.

I am glad you got to visit with seldom-seen loved ones and reaffirm the family bond with them. Your Grandfather would have been proud of his family and he has gone to a better place now. Only time will heal the pain of losing him and make your days a little brighter but, it will happen.

Sounds like the community of friends respected him also.

Kudos to you for prioritizing your life.  Stay strong, they're depending on you...

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your grandpa. I lost my gparents and great-grandma and great uncle,  before I was old enugh to truely appreciate them! I have fond memories of brushing my great grandmother's blond (not white), long hair. Getting goat milk with gpa, collecting fresh eggs, and being chased by the evil geese! Lol!  I take solis in talking to them when i'm alone. Maybe i'm looney, but for some reason it makes me feel better. Maybe it might give you some peace and clarity. Lisa
