Nah, these kids can plead insanity or whatever but I doubt it will save their asses.  

This case is a perfect storm of stereotypes & hypotheticals.  The authorities are gonna make an example and throw the book at these kids, at least at the two shooters for sure.  If they somehow get off easy then it will be technicalities and/or lawyers.  It won't be because the authorities went easy on them.  
   

         
Public executions weren't stopped because people got too squeamish for it, it was because crowds turned out & enjoyed it too much.  The effect on the crowd was more feeding people's bloodlust than deterring crime.

I don't agree with suppressing it, but I don't think that has any great big relevance either.  Individuals are responsible for thinking & acting on their own.


The gang idea also sounds like the kind of BS that Rush Limbaugh is liable to randomly fart out of his mouth without having any basis in fact.  Is there another source for it?

For every actual gang member there are dozens of wannabes.  Throwing up some finger signs & wearing a certain color does not make you the genuine article.  Plenty of "initiations" have been committed when half a dozen young guys are just trying to impress each other.  The media doesn't make much distinction between this stuff and real gangs.  


The media also acts like being a rural white guy with more than 2 rifles is evidence that you're an anti-govt militia member.  Same principle.

Just to correct you a little bit, that was just Georgia.  The other colonies were developed by people escaping religious persecution or by greedy people looking to take advantage of the resources.
