I wouldn't want to live in a town populated by, or especially, governed by, busybodies.

I've been down this same route dealing with complaints from nosy a-holes who have nothing better to do when I had lived in a densely populated suburb. The favorite past time of these a-holes, was edging their lawn & trying to make it greener than green & hoping to get it on the cover of Better Homes & Gardens. At least 3 or 4 different occasions I received a letter from the town about a car, but only once was the complaint legit when I parted a car & let it sit as a shell for a few weeks in the driveway.

Just fill up a cup with it and throw it in the yard late at night.  Don't leave the cup. :2thumbs:

i hate dealing with that crap... its your house do what you want imo. like my neighbor for example.... i didnt care he parked his van partly in his yard, i have a hoa btw some how he gets away with this for 2 years while inching it closer INTO MY YARD!! now i have a problem so i decided to throw a tow strap around his rear axle and towed the pos into the middle of the street and left it there right in the damn way of everyone...including the hoa pres. thats how i made a statment. he moved it back into his yard, less into mine and then got his notice, moved it into his driveway. however there the damn thing sits in his yard again .... waiting to work its way back into mine.... next time hes not getting it back in one piece and if those pieces come back ill just park all my cars in his front lawn.  :2thumbs: now if i park my boat in my driveway or next to my garage then 2 weeks later i get a notice.... we have to keep them in this stupid lot on the shit side of our development and pay for it.... cant wait for the housing market to come up a tiny bit and find a a place to live without this bs.... besides i got twins and if they are like me then they will have a couple cars a piece once they are older and it wont fly here...

Define busybody. Someone who worries about trivial matters or someone who doesn't want to see his/her neighborhood turned into a cesspool? If it's the former what would you call the latter?

My response to Maxim followed some hair pulling on my part and was a knee jerk reaction.  I can see him as being a busybody.
I will leave it to him to describe what a busybody is. If I were to do so he would land with both feet and there would be no end.

As for common courtesy to those around us we have an obligation to be decent and if that concept is foreign to someone I see city or county intervention as the way to handle it.  :yesnod:

Well, for all those thinking they might move into the country to get around this ad I did, is the po-po.t ain't no better.
I got a neighbor that tinkers with cars. I think he just has a hangout for all his car buddys. No problem, I do the dame.
However, for about 6months, he decides he'd fire up this 80's monte carlo drag car and rev the hell out of plus burnouts in front of his house for all his little buddies. Normally I would'nt have a problem with this the first 20 or so times, but it got old.
Thing is, I like to "test drive"some of my junk that may not have all the correct papers yet and this guy is just calling the law down here.

A couple weeks ago I'm headed to work one morning and I notice I have new neighbor on the other side of this guy with all kinds of John Deere yard ornaments and such, with three older Ford trucks in his yard....
Been there for at least a year, but..
What do I see sitting in his drive on that morning??? Two State Police cruisers. yep, dude Is the po-po..

I haven't heard or seen that Monte Carlo for at least 3 months...oh, and forget about leash laws..I have at least 6big ole Marmeduke lookin dogs that constantly piss on my wheels. Numerous cats as well.

I hd a parts car dropped at my house, on the drive. 2 days later it was gone on a flatbed, the next morning, I got the letter from the city.
I called them up and luckily the guy knew me (been reported so many times, we are on first name terms). He told me it was yet another anonymous report from a neighbor and he if I wanted to do that, next time, call the city in advace so they could give permission, so there were no complaints.
Im guessing, if I called them, they'd be round same day to fine me.

I had a neighbor complain about project cars once. Had the police show up and start checking vins like I was running a chop shop or something. They where telling how bad I was for having so many cars. Made me mad. I ended up registering 12 cars and parking all of them on the public street in front of all my neighbors homes for almost a year. Really pissed them off but there wasn't anything they could do. All I had to do was move them 10 feet every 48hours. That's the law around here. I haven't got a complaint since. That's why I made sure when I bought my house it wasn't in an hoa neighborhood. Sure wish I had a 40x60 shop in my backyard.
