Anyone use this...and is it worth it.  My 727 has a transgo shift kit already, but after I installed it I was pissed because I barely noticed any difference.

The 5.0 lever is currently out of vogue, the 4.2 is the favored piece.

Do you know what lever you have now? Unless it's a 2.9, you probably won't notice much difference changing levers and the trans has to come out to do it.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Dont know what I have now its a stock 383 2bl 727 from 1970.  So it wouldn't surprise me if its the smaller one.  I also assumed this kickdown lever was located on the outside by the kickdown linkage, so if it has to come out and be dissasembled its probably not worth it.

If you already have a Trans-Go kit in the car and it is primarily a street driven vehicle, then you have done most of what you need anyway.  You don't often hear of someone saying they are unhappy with a Trans-Go one though?  Which kit did you use?

I am not sure which kit I'll have to check on it, I had it installed when I got my transmission rebuilt by a guy in Owasso, Oklahoma.  Dont know if any of you have used him before His name is wayne, and all he does is work on old mopars.  He is specifically known for restoring them, but also has done some drag builds.  He is very dependable, so I can't even imagine he would have used the wrong kit for my application.

It isn't that one kit is "wrong", but Trans-Go does offer more than one kit for a Torqueflite and one modifies the trans considerably more than the other.  Both are good and both have their purpose.

John_Kunkel

TransGo offers some kits which correct certain conditions, these aren't true "shift kits" and won't produce a noticeable difference in shift firmness.
