Is this the correct backing plate for manual disk brakes?

After years of putting it off i took my old power drum booster off & noticed that plate had studs in it. The one I bought a few years ago does not have any for the master cylinder. I was told it is for manual brakes,no studs on that one....is the below correct? I got a rod for manual brakes off Doc so that should be good and a modern booster off E booger that is used for manual drums or disks.

Does anyone have a link that walks you through this? It seems simple enough but a little help never hurts.
